Whirlwind

Things are such a whirlwind right now! The boys are growing so fast. I want to do better about journaling and blogging. I'd like to look back on my blog and see the boys growing up again. Today we went through Seth's clothes, sorting, folding, packing, and trashing things he can no longer wear. I have to say, it was amazing. Some of the things that we put away (for consignment) were items that Parker Jay wore when he was a baby. We made room for other things that had been packed away. Pulling them out, I was filled with emotion. I pulled out the 9-12 month box and just had to take a deep breath. I lifted each outfit, and just couldn't believe Parker wore them such a short time ago. And, that soon, Seth would be wearing them and toddling, climbing, seeking. Parker is such a funny little boy. He is always thinking he has a surprise on the porch because we are always getting packages. He sneaks out of his bed at night, goes into his bathroom and messes with soap and the next morning, there are fingerprints on the window. I cannot be mad at him about it. He's just being curious. And, I'm sure it's like fingerpainting for him. Plus, I can never seem to catch him in the act of fingersoaping :0) If I catch him, I guess that's a different story. There's never a dull day here in the Lewis zoo. Hope y'all had a wonderful Monday.

About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. It's a dedicated place for my book reviews, criticism, and love of all things bookish. I am a mom of 4 busy kids that uses reading as my, "thing." I find that reading books turns off all (okay, mostly all?) of the noise of my world and lets me get away for a bit. Reading helps me escape the reality of the piles of laundry that will never be done, the dust bunnies that I swear will one day grow legs, and the emails and outlook calendar that occupy my life Monday- Friday during working hours. Reading is therapy for me and always has been. I've always been a big dork, introverted, creative, and reflective. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd probably open up a used bookstore with my standard poodle somewhere on the side of the mountain and surround myself by others who enjoy passing their time reading. Until then, I'll keep on keeping on. And, I'll settle for reading when I can. Which, I try to fit in as much as possible. Cheers to your busy life and mine, doing the best we can, as often as we can.
