catch up

Lots of things to catch up on :)

Sethie went to the doctor for shots and a checkup--he is now 5 months old...weighs 17 lbs and is 26 inches tall!! The doctor is happy with his growth. He has met all of his developmental milestones so far like rolling over some, grasping things with 2 hands, babbling, etc. She said that we are in the clear to start baby food !! So, the first thing we tried was today...SWEET TATERS!! (That's sweet potatoes to all my Northern friends!)... He absolutely LOVES his bouncer and will spend mucho time in it and wears himself out. *See pic below. I've got more pics to post from my phone. They should be updating now.

I've been working on a few crafts from home that I'm really proud of am I think I'll be able to sell to some little boutiques in the area. Hopefully, make a dollar or two ! I'm reading Elizabeth Edwards' first book now called Saving Graces...and it's good but not as good as her second one. I already have "The Politician" waiting on my bookshelf to read. It's kindof a sad little saga...but interesting. I sent her a card, did I tell you guys. Just thanking her for writing a powerful and empowering book. Andrew Young's wife works at UNC hospital...the same place I work. It's kindof crazy. But, I don 't know her.

I'm still waiting to hear back from some job apps. The economy seems to be even hurting RN jobs. Last year this time there seemed to be so many more vacancies. I think most places are just short-staffing their nurses and hoping nothing dangerous happens. NOT OKAY.

Jay is just about finished with the movie room. He's mounting speakers and such as I type. He's so handy. I don't know what I'd do without him. He's so goofy. Today he stuck two screws up his nose and I caught it on camera.  I plan on posting it for ya. He hasn't shaved his beard in a LONG time...and could use a haircut. But let me tell you. This picture you see, it sums up my days and nights. Who thought 1 pic could do that?! I mean...I laugh at him EVERYDAY..and hope you get a laugh out of it too.

I've been ordering things on ebay like crazy. I've decided that getting packages in the mail is my anti-drug. LOL. It's so fun. Try it.

I guess that's about it.
Just wanted to say hi to my loyal 2 followers~~
Hang in there, spring is a comin!

About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. It's a dedicated place for my book reviews, criticism, and love of all things bookish. I am a mom of 4 busy kids that uses reading as my, "thing." I find that reading books turns off all (okay, mostly all?) of the noise of my world and lets me get away for a bit. Reading helps me escape the reality of the piles of laundry that will never be done, the dust bunnies that I swear will one day grow legs, and the emails and outlook calendar that occupy my life Monday- Friday during working hours. Reading is therapy for me and always has been. I've always been a big dork, introverted, creative, and reflective. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd probably open up a used bookstore with my standard poodle somewhere on the side of the mountain and surround myself by others who enjoy passing their time reading. Until then, I'll keep on keeping on. And, I'll settle for reading when I can. Which, I try to fit in as much as possible. Cheers to your busy life and mine, doing the best we can, as often as we can.
