SNOW night!

So, since I work weekends, here I sit at UNC hospital. Good 'ole Chapel Hill, NC. The snow is blustery and dancing and here I sit...about a 35 minute drive from home. From the boys. From the chilly sheets and warm husband. Now, for most people, in most places a foot of snow is no big deal. Here in this mid-section of North Carolina....all we need is a dusting and all chaos breaks loose! The hospital has released a statement to the press showing COTS that they are going to give us to sleep on. I'm so concerned about this!!! Now, I'm so sleep-deprived, I can probably sleep upside down. But, with my cot next to a complete stranger or 4 or 5 or 30? CRAZY! I mean, what if my bag gets stolen? What if I snore? How am I going to sleep without makeup on? These are all things that CLEARLY were not thought out. I'm wondering if a male person devised this little cot situation. I just may take my Elliebug and try and weather the snow and chill. I mean, I'm not trying to be a complete princess but please let me whine a bit. Everyone else I know is off work tomorrow, they are facebooking about sledding and snowboarding, hot cocoa, and fireplaces. I mean, why not just say you're in your flannel pajamas, watching lifetime and sipping hot cocoa by the fire? Don't hold back :)
My little snugglebums are sleeping soundly- like something out of a Night Before Christmas book. I can see them all snuggly. Oh to be there right now.
I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder. My heart was already so fond it's about to explode?!
Either way, about 7am, when and IF dayshift nurses ever get here safely.....I'll be closing my eyes SOMEWHERE. I'm hoping it's just not on a cot....staring at the back of Joe Bob's hair on his cot across the room. ECk......Heck, maybe I'll just go sleep in Elliebug. Wish Jay would have taken the seats out for me!!
If you're in the thick of it all.....enjoy it. Make a snow angel or something for me.
I posted a pic of me out in the snow here at work. Someone went out to smoke and I couldn't resist tagging along.
Merry SNOW!

About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. It's a dedicated place for my book reviews, criticism, and love of all things bookish. I am a mom of 4 busy kids that uses reading as my, "thing." I find that reading books turns off all (okay, mostly all?) of the noise of my world and lets me get away for a bit. Reading helps me escape the reality of the piles of laundry that will never be done, the dust bunnies that I swear will one day grow legs, and the emails and outlook calendar that occupy my life Monday- Friday during working hours. Reading is therapy for me and always has been. I've always been a big dork, introverted, creative, and reflective. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd probably open up a used bookstore with my standard poodle somewhere on the side of the mountain and surround myself by others who enjoy passing their time reading. Until then, I'll keep on keeping on. And, I'll settle for reading when I can. Which, I try to fit in as much as possible. Cheers to your busy life and mine, doing the best we can, as often as we can.
