the waiting game

So, I've decided to really give this blogging thing a go. I figure, it's a good place to keep pictures, update family and vent on the crazy days we have both behind us and ahead of us. I've been following a few friends who have blogs and I enjoy reading them so much that I would hope to have a few followers too :)
Let's start by saying....we are 8.7985 months pregnant with baby Lewis #2, and I'm hormonal, swollen, fat and hard to deal with. And, yes I know it. I've got stretch marks, sock lines and shave every 3-4 days when I feel like it. My toenails are chipped because 1) I can't see them 2) my face turns red to reach them. Crocs are my everyday choice for foot comfort. I've stopped wearing eye makeup and anything besides loose powder on my face. Bottom line: I've let myself go.
Today, I had a total and complete breakdown about laundry. And, with Parker, my first son I don't remember being so miserable, so fat, so hormonal, so bitchy, so complainy (just made up that!) or so over this.
Let me just add that we're in the process of a short sale on our townhouse, moving on Sept. 9th to a new (and bigger thank GOD) place, and I'll have probably no more than 2 weeks out for after Seth is born. I've only been working at UNC since April so I don't have any paid time saved up nor will I qualify for short term disability or FMLA. LOL....there is a lot going on!
So, this blog is an effort to reflect on the boys...I'm looking forward to the holidays and the fall (not being hot doing EVERYTHING) pumpkins and gourds and fresh air...the fair, Christmas... and I hope to keep you all entertained along the way :)
Baby love,
~Kimmie

About Me

My photo
Welcome to my blog. It's a dedicated place for my book reviews, criticism, and love of all things bookish. I am a mom of 4 busy kids that uses reading as my, "thing." I find that reading books turns off all (okay, mostly all?) of the noise of my world and lets me get away for a bit. Reading helps me escape the reality of the piles of laundry that will never be done, the dust bunnies that I swear will one day grow legs, and the emails and outlook calendar that occupy my life Monday- Friday during working hours. Reading is therapy for me and always has been. I've always been a big dork, introverted, creative, and reflective. If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd probably open up a used bookstore with my standard poodle somewhere on the side of the mountain and surround myself by others who enjoy passing their time reading. Until then, I'll keep on keeping on. And, I'll settle for reading when I can. Which, I try to fit in as much as possible. Cheers to your busy life and mine, doing the best we can, as often as we can.
